Autumn Musical 2017 - Chess
I think Time Magazine sums it up perfectly...
"One of the best rock scores ever produced. This is an angry, difficult, demanding and rewarding show."
I am delighted to be directing my all time favourite musical, alongside Phillip Coleman (MD) and Ella Martin (Choreographer).
Written by Tim Rice and ABBA's Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, The score includes
One Night in Bangkok,
Pity The Child,
You And I,
Someone Else's Story and,of course,
I Know Him So Well.
Two of the world's greatest chess masters battle it out at the world chess championships, but their greatest contest is for the love of one woman. Amidst political intrigue and international conspiracies, the American and the Russian fight to win the heart of Florence in a romantic triangle that mirrors the heightened passions of the Cold War.
We have a large cast of strong singers and dancers for this blockbuster.
